What are Rubbish Removal Services?
What is rubbish removal? It’s a term that’s been around as long as there’s been garbage service, and it’s a name that we at LeBoeuf Rubbish Removal wear proudly. But just like “waste management,” the terms can cover a lot of ground. Today we’ll go over our rubbish removal services: garbage, recycling, dumpster rentals, and bulky-item pickup, which we think also cover everything related to the rubbish removal services you might need.
How Garbage Has Changed Since Rubbish Removal
Today, what can go into the garbage is very regulated, and not just any old “rubbish” is allowed. With both Connecticut and Massachusetts waste disposal bans, certain items aren’t allowed anymore in the trash. These include:
- Construction Materials: Including asphalt, brick, concrete, treated and untreated wood waste, and clean gypsum wallboard
- Recyclables: Including metals, glass and metal containers, recyclable paper products, and single-resin narrow-necked plastic containers
- Bulky & White Goods: Specific bulky products like mattresses and whole tires, alongside large home and commercial appliances, such as fridges and ovens
- Yard Debris & Food Waste: Leaves and other yard waste, alongside commercial food materials (such as grocery or food processing food waste)
- Hazardous Waste Products: Cathode ray tubes and lead acid batteries are both common household items that contain hazardous heavy metals

Dealing with Recycling in Massachusetts
Until the 1970s, curbside recycling wasn’t a thing, but as landfills started to run out of room, new initiatives started to come into place. According to NERC, the first curbside-recycling bin, “The Tree Saver,” was used in Missouri for the collection of paper in 1974. Massachusetts made history as well, securing the first-ever EPA recycling grants in 1976 for multi-material curbside collection programs and even the first residential recycling truck!
While that first recycling truck wasn’t ours, LeBoeuf was founded in 1971, meaning we were part of that movement to reduce waste with recycling, and we’re proud to have helped roll out curbside recycling in MA. Today, we offer single-stream recycling for residents and businesses throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut.
What About Other Rubbish Removal?
Days of dumping whatever you like into the garbage may be gone, alongside leaving bulky furniture or appliances for regular pickup, but you still have options with LeBoeuf! We offer a curbside bulk-item pickup service for all of our residential and commercial customers that’s just a call and an invoice away. For larger amounts of garbage, including construction materials and debris from a home construction project, we also have dumpster rentals in many sizes.
At LeBoeuf Rubbish Removal, we’ve seen it all in our over 50 years in the industry, and that expertise is used with every pickup, installation, and dumpster drop-off. We help Massachusetts and Connecticut individuals and organizations tackle garbage and recycling, from curbside pickup to big projects.
